? help on Paley Festivals & Hollywood network shit, info needed for my bigbang...
need to know how Networks ie CW run/showcase their shows (especially an older show that's been reformatted) outside of commercial spots? I.e. are there actually such things as network parties, for smaller shows, networks like the CW? (Or is that too old school/fictional?) What's mandatory in aid of promotion from a individual celebrity?
The Paley festival itself, who actually decides what shows are focused/invited, is it the festival, or Networks (or maybe networks make bits to showcase their shows?)... Does an individual network have its own version of PF ie CW, publicly celebrating its older/newer shows. Or even if a show isn't a focal point at the Paley Festival, do other celebrities/shows cast go to gain publicity, be visible, networks have parties semi-public again to be visible--same/similar time as the PF's?
Also do the Paley Festivals, happen twice a year? Googling I found listings dated back from April, but also dated for this month Aug... is it both or just once a year & if so which month?
Does anyone know the time of year that scripts for pilots make the rounds; are shot and when network execs actually see them?
Though if I had time and more awake, my small bits of research might make more sense... or add more questions *shrug* but I have to leave for work, and by the time I get home I'll be too tired/sore to actually think. Sadly, my schedule is like that all week. Anyhoo, if you can help? So sorry I'm not up on the whole, how Hollywood is run thang... So if you have a good idea please lmk, add your 2 cents :)
