RL update, fandom, and vid rec

Overwhelmed but I’m getting through it I guess.

Packing is almost finished. It had pushed back because the apartment I’m moving into wasn’t ready (as the person living there hadn’t moved out- she did weekend of the 5th) and since then they have started to tear up the floors (I get new floors/paint- carpet goes in tomorrow). Hopefully I can start bringing small things (yeah that didn’t happen, but I’ll start bringing over small things today/tomorrow glass tops etc) over this weekend. My official move date is the 26th, this Saturday.

A piece of good news, the owner (the apt I’m leaving) has hired me to clean the neighbor’s apartment when she’s completely moved out. Meaning it looks like –hopefully- I’ll get my full deposit back (though I’m not counting the money yet until it’s in my hot little hands!) and then I will be able to pay my friend back who fronted $$ for my move *thumbs up*

It’s still difficult dealing with things. My brother is still in jail and looks like he’ll be doing time *sigh* One of the most difficult things was facing what to do with his stuff- to temporary store things or not. After he was arrested he had asked that I save 3 things (his collection of dvds, a TV, and his surround sound) each of these I’ll be taking and have with me. I’ll also take all the living room furniture to use at the other apartment while Dad will store boxes of his personal stuff. Everything else is going (to charity) so he’ll have to start over. I really didn’t have any say in the matter as I initially thought my dad was going to store all of it, but he’ll only save/store the boxes. Emotions are running high on all sides, but there’s nothing I can do other than offer Jeff my support and help him rebuild when he gets out (if he helps himself). However if he doesn’t and wants to emotionally stay in a destructive place, I can’t be there for him.

Fandom- I’m slowly stepping back into play. I’ve signed up for 2 projects so far, thebigbangjob & da_reversebang

For thebigbangjob I'd like to tackle the Leverage/Dark Angel bunny I've had for awhile. Bunny: It's July and Parker demands to have a Xmas celebration for an orphanage she missed (Parker had arranged visits/entertainment for the kids to surrounding orphanages in the Tri-state) during the holidays. Once it's arranged, it’s only after they arrive that they discover Manticore isn't your average orphanage with average kids (focusing on twin brothers wee X5's Alec and Ben). I think it’s mainly gen with a slight OT3

da_reversebang No clue what I'll write (its short, the requirement is only 3k for writers) so I'll wait to be inspired by the art.

werewolfbigbang also just opened up. I haven't signed up, but I am thinking about it. However since sign ups are open until March 1 I'm going to focus on thebigbangjob and finish or have 80% done before I sign up for wwbb. Besides I need to figure out what to write. Here are a few thoughts: Take a piece from Aloha and write a bit focused on one pairing group, either: Karl/Sean/Viggo, Colin/Orli or Jeremy/Dom/Elijah, or Jeff/Chad (sadly a focus on Jared & Jensen wouldn't work for this challenge as neither are a werewolf.)

Or… SGA: Lorne/Sheppard, CW rps: Chad/Chris, Jared Jensen, or a new bunny a crossover BtVS/Teen Wolf (or Supernatural, I keep going back and forth, but the bunny would work for either fandom) focused would be on Oz. Bunny: Oz is captured by a hunter.

I'm also thinking of crossbigbang, or au_bigbang, to work on Aloha Pride CW rps/Lotrips that'll focus on Jared/Jensen and where I left Aloha.

Festivids 2012 list of vids here are out, sadly I haven't had the time to really watch and enjoy, but I see this one rec by blueswan and was thrilled I took the time to watch- YUM!!!Wild One

Although I’ll be moving small things over after work, last night was my last night here as I’m house-sitting for the next 2 days. I know I seem to have a problem saying no to people though it won’t be too bad as she doesn’t live far. Going to get off in a few minutes- just wanted to give an update & let you guys know I’ll probably be off line for a week or so. I screwed up and forgot to find out about phone jacks in the extra room (my office where my computer is going)- anyhoo when I ordered service for cable & my DSL line, I didn’t check the room and there is no jack. So now I have to call and have them come out *pout* Meaning I probably won’t have my computer up until then unless I pick up on someone else’s signal. Okay I guess that’s it, need to call AT&T then strip my bed and take it apart before work – fun times!

Oh btw any rl flist members who’d like to help- unpacking help would be awesome. I’ve never had this much packed before. I’ll probably be doing that all day Sunday (including going back & forth on whatever is left that the movers don’t/can’t take that’s not boxed. No worries if you can’t – okay be good and I’ll see you on the flip side =)

I am still obsessed by the vid and have rationed myself on viewings because surely that much of anything can't be good for oneself. *g* I'm glad you enjoyed it.
