denyceSo I've seen this on a few of my friends pages and now feel inspired. Don't kow if I'll be able to do so every day, but I'm happy to give it a try - pokes flist to join in =)
Ah first day self recs... yikes! Alright, I'm going to stick with pieces I wrote in 2011 that I felt the most connection with; where I experienced the highs and lows throughout the process and each challenge left me with a new lesson to grow from.
Designation: Hostile 17, BtVS/DA

À la Mode, SGA/The Incredibles
First up Designation: Hostile 17 a BtVS/DA crossover with X5 494 (Alec)/Spike Personally I had a blast writing this; everything from the plot and concept to the infusion of both fandoms. I was also pleasantly surprised with le muse as she kept kicking me with new twists and turns. I wish it had more readers and interest than it did, and initially that kind of hurt because I can only guess why it had few to no readers o.o However what bothered me more was that the fabulous art work that accompanied D:H17, IMO the artist really didn’t get the recognition she deserved. I said it before and I’ll say it againdollarformyname exceeded my wildest wishes and was dream to work with. The lack of fb resulted in a bit writer’s block and self wallowing that my writing wasn’t up to par with my artists work. Since then my muse decided to bitch slap me out of my self-pity act – then proceeded to tell me she’s not done with this verse and has sicced Maggie Walsh on me who wants her property hostile 17 back.
Anyhoo, long story short D:H17 was creatively fun to write and a huge learning growth on expectations that I put on myself and to readers or lack of readers ;)
Second, is another DA piece Special that was recently followed up with Crossing that Bridge. I really liked both pieces. Also I can’t articulate exactly where the idea came from other than to say I was bitten by le muse. It’s dark and painfully twisted in a way that feels right within the shows darker content. I didn’t want to break Max, but I guess that’s what I did – or broken as an X5 can be broken. The second piece came about because someone wanted to know what happened next - where le muse gave me a picture of the end and I knew I had to write it. If you click please read the warnings. The challenge for me was to do something I don't like to do - allow myself to go to that dark place and be okay. To trust myself even when it gets a little too close for comfort.
Third is another crossover, this time fluffy/crack with SGA/The Incredibles, À la Mode . I read the prompt over on Fall Fandom Free-For-All and the next thing I knew I had a muse for Edna Mode, who was poking me and dictating the entire piece. Atm, I’m seriously trying to ignore her – it’s difficult as she seems insistent on making another appearance –weirdly it’s not in SGA. Meaning she’s pushing her way into another one of my fandoms – Ha, she says, “Darling, do what I say and it will be fabulous.” O.o Still I loved writing this, Edna is a hoot! And I loved her interacting with the different SGA characters. Here the challenge was taking on a new character like Edna and allowing her the growth to be 3-dimesional. I think the next challenge with Edna will be creating boundaries ;)
